Winter to Spring Lookbook
9:28 PMHiyaaa!
So guess who finally got to put up another lookbook?!? I had so much fun putting these outfits together and I really tried my best to include different companies such as Missguided and Boohoo and ASOS!
I've inserted the video above so you folks can watch it! I loved getting the opportunity to work with a new an upcoming company, Silkstaq, who helped me film the lookbook!
Now let's get to the fun part.... the outfits!
And here's how I would style this outfit with accessories! I would use a nice gem-toned bag (royal blue, red, or emerald) to add a rich pop of color and I would slide on a pair of cat eye sunglasses! Lately I've been super into the cat-eye or more rounded shape sunglasses.
For some reason, over the knee boots are IMPOSSIBLE to find in wide calf sizes. I found the pair I was wearing at Lane Bryant, but I haven't been able to find them on the website recently. It took me ages to find a pair of these boots in a wide calf size and unfortunately I'm struggling to find more pairs from other brands! I will keep my eyes peeled and post if I see another pair ASAP!
The dress from the second outfit comes from Missguided, which is a UK brand. I was so excited when I found out that Missguided offers plus sizes because their clothing is so cool and trendy. They're also a brand that doesn't give the plus sizes the short end of the stick- the higher sizes are just as trendy as their straight sizes! Missguided is now also partnered with Unidays, so if you're a student and need a good discount just sign up for Unidays and you'll receive a discount when you shop at Missguided!
Usually, I gear more towards silver accessories because that's just what I prefer, but for this look I wanted to vibe off of the color of the dress and use accessories that had a gold accent. I grabbed a necklace from Forever 21 that was gold based and has a bunch of gems of different colors in it. I'm also absolutely obsessed with these gladiator sandals from Target, I think gladiator sandals are super trendy and dress up any look. I would love to own a pair of taller gladiator sandals, but have unfortunately not been able to find a pair that fits my calves!
As you can tell, the third look pulled a lot of inspiration from the 70's. I felt like Donna from That 70's Show in my flared jeans, fringe jacket, and feminist t-shirt. The flared jeans from Forever 21+ are super comfortable and fit my body perfectly. It is the first time I've bought high waisted jeans from Forever 21 that aren't ridiculously wide on my waist- these jeans fit my waist and hips like a dream!
I wanted to continue with the 70's vibe with a graphic tee and a fringe jacket. The jacket I was wearing is from Primark, which unfortunately doesn't have an online store. If you happen to live in Boston or Europe you could probably manage to find this jacket if it's still in stores. For everyone else, I had some trouble finding a similar plus size jacket. The Forever 21 model is taunting us with the fringe jacket she has in her hand that is not in the Forever 21+ store.
I would top this outfit off with a cool pair of 70's inspired sunglasses. These ones from Coach are awesome with yellow lenses, but you could always find a pair of brown aviators and walk around feelin' like Hyde. (I love That 70's Show way too much).
Aaaaand this outfit is probably my most-worn outfit. It is so freaking comfortable and so trendy but easy that I typically wear some variation of this. Unfortunately, some of the pieces (shirt and coat) are from Primark, but I did manage to find a very similar coat from Missguided! As for the shirt, you can honestly wear whatever shirt or t-shirt you like and this outfit will work.
This is also a super easy way to style boyfriend jeans. The jeans I wore in the video are a bit more fitted on me than boyfriend jeans typically are. This is honestly because all of my boyfriend jeans are from Forever 21 and unfortunately they tend to rip when I sit down or move around so now all of my ripped jeans just have gigantic holes in the thighs. The ones I wore, which are from ASOS, are much better quality and still work for the outfit even though they are more fitted!
I decided to put on a huge statement necklace with this look just to dress it up a tad bit, but it is still a super trendy and easy look to pull off!
And this last outfit ties with the first one for my favorite of this lookbook. I managed to find this dress on clearance at boohoo.com (which is CONSTANTLY having sales, BTW) and it fits amazingly and is super flattering. Because of how low the front is cut, I had to go without a bra for this to work- just a heads up. All black is typically how I like to dress, especially when getting more dressed up.
The jacket is from Primark, but luckily plus size leather jackets are getting easier and easier to find! I tend to like leather jackets that have a lot of metal on it, it's just what I prefer, and the jacket I found on Polyvore from ASOS would work great for this look as well. I also suggest making sure that whatever leather jacket you find is more cropped and stops right around the waist. If your jacket is a little more longer, it has the potential to make your hips seem even larger and will make your torso look boxy and hide your gorgeous curves! Just a fun tip!
I absolutely love these shoes with this look. I have always loved the look of the strappy heeled sandals, but could never find a pair that was comfortable on me. These sandals from Target have a chunkier heel and a wider ankle strap so they're super duper comfortable but look so unbelievable trendy!
For a night out, I would grab a clutch or a long off the shoulder bag. I loved this fun clutch I found on Polyvore. It makes your rocker girl outfit look a little more playful!
I hope you all enjoyed this lookbook and my breakdown of the video! I am looking forward to posting a lot more on this blog and sharing as many fashion tips as I can think of!
